Custom Molded Plastic Parts has a complete tool room staffed by five tool makers. CMPP manufactures a mold developed thru the process of i
ntegrated Product Design,

Rapid Prototyping and Computer Aided Mold Design:
There are several steps in the design of the mold. CMPP will walk you thru the process involving the following steps;

Economic Analysis:
We will develop an economic analysis that will show you the options to get the most cost effective part from a mold designed to meet your engineering standards.

Tool Design:
We take responsibility for the tool design. Our tooling engineers, design the tool, define the Critical aspects such as mechanical action, ejection, manifold design and lastly runner system.

Development of Specifications:
We mutually agree upon a specification sheet. That sheet is used to develop a basis to compare sources.

Multi Source Tooling Options:
We can source your tool domestically in our own shop. We can source your tool in the Far East or Eastern Europe.

Selection of the successful Vendor:
We conduct an interactive process of selection of the vendor. After a joint decision is made, we award the purchase order and begin the process of monitoring the progress of the mold. If needed we schedule visits to the vendor to monitor construction.

Acceptance of the Tool:
Final acceptance is done at the vendor’s shop. Once the tool is accepted, it is crated and shipped to our production facility.

Maintenance of the Tool:
Custom Molded Products thru its parent Pittsfield Plastics Engineering, maintains all of tools for customers. It assures tools will be production ready and be keep in a secure area.
